As Soon As

00.18 Unknown 4 Comments

After you turned away, I missed you so much
I ran to you crazily
But what is this, what is this?
You’re in the arms of another
You stare at him and smile
This isn’t it, this isn’t it, no, this can’t be, why?

Baby, do you like being in his arms better?
Did you ever stop to think of me?
As soon as you turn away, as soon as you leave
Did you just erase me, forget me?
Don’t you even have any regrets?
How could you be so natural?
As soon as you turn away, as soon as you leave
This is the story of how we broke up

As soon as I left you and turned away
I became so angry
Who are you to me? Who are you?
As I watch you laugh together
I pray that you’ll be happy with him
Stupid, stupid, can’t even talk, stupid

Baby, do you like being in his arms better?
Did you ever stop to think of me?
As soon as you turn away, as soon as you leave
Did you just erase me, forget me?
Don’t you even have any regrets?
How could you be so natural?
As soon as you turn away, as soon as you leave
This is the story of how we broke up

I’ll erase you from my heart
I don’t need no consoling, I’m never going to love again
Fine, do as you want, if you want to leave, go ahead
I don’t want to get hurt
I’m not sad at all, it ends right here

I’m sorry but I forgot you too
I have regrets but I’ve prayed for you, too
This is the story of our break up
This is the end right here

Baby, do you like being in his arms better?
Did you ever stop to think of me?
As soon as you turn away, as soon as you leave
Did you just erase me, forget me?
Don’t you even have any regrets?
How could you be so natural?
As soon as you turn away, as soon as you leave
This is the story of how we broke up

Even If You Leave Me

Even if you leave me,
I'll be happy if I'm able to just watch you,
that's all I need

Even if you're in the arms of another,
I'll be happy,
I'll be happy if you just remember,
that's all I need

No matter where you are, don't get hurt.
Don't skip meals because you want to diet.
You have to smile more in front of that person, Handsomely.

If, by chance, you miss me, listen to this song.
If that person hurts you, listen to this song (no no)
If you keep missing me, sing this song.
It's my last gift prepared for you. (bye bye)

If that person asks about me, just say you don't know anything.
It's okay for you to.
If I can't hold back and end up calling you at night, making you cry,
ask that person to stay by your side.

Don't look back at such a unfortunate person like me.
You don't even have to remember me, it's not like I left any traces.
I never even did anything for you anyway so just turn back.
Even this feeling of longing has become a luxury
so just erase me.

Live happily, please.
Just live happily for yourself.
Forget something like me and live happily, live happily

I'm sorry that I can't be by your side

2PM - even if you leave me

hi folks,

how's your day? i hope you're doing pretty well out there. anyway, tadi sore aku baru nemu link keren dari lonely planet. The Egnatia Odos Motorway

Visa Paspor Indonesia

Dear Backpackers and Flashpackers!

how's your last trip? great? where's your next destination?

(Europe oh Europe....knapa kamu gak gratisan?at least VoA pleasee...)

Two Sides To Every Story

20.33 Unknown 0 Comments

you think you know me
but the question is
which one?

Guten nacht!
it's evening here on Bali. quite a nice day , nice weather, nice events, nice windblows (ps : it's been hard-wind-day lately here)
anyway, i'm going to write something about two sides personality. i don't know about you, but for me, there's really two sides lies on me. the nice and the bad one.some people says it's a dual personality. but some of them denied, because dual personality only happens to people who doesn't even know about the other personality consciusly. this one is different, because you know everything about them both, and take them out individually based on events occured. at least, i do.

everytime, people tend to show the nice side, instead of bad side. me too. the nice side comes out almost all time, and do something which the bad side of me doesn't even willing to do.

the nice me do eveything to please everyone. smile, let's people decide, follow the rules, follow the order, and even smile when someone hurting me.

while bad me tend to do all the opposites, saying everything i want, telling everything i want, showing hatred when i hate of being in a situation, being sarcastic, and showing anger at everytime i want.

so when a bad event occured, and the nice me can't even handle anymore, and the bad of me shouting to come out and ruin everything, i always try to get out the third personality. which handle them all. i call this : Silence

Silence tend to do nothing and just enjoy everthing that can be enjoyed, while all the personalities calm down. but the bad side is, people always think this side of me as ARROGANT and Anti-social. while i always feel kinda calm when Silence come out.
i have to do nothing to please everyone, and i have to do nothing either to be hated by everyone.

what about yours?

Familiar Awkward Place

do you know?
that there's a place somewhere out there
having the power to lock yourself down?

"be yourself"
"Express yourself"
you can always shout to yourself like that
no matter what you do
no matter how loud you shout
that place locked you on a darkest side

you keep trying to be positive
so you can survive
but all you think is negative
and makes you harder to strive

always asking
tell me a way to deal
tell me a thing to do
shall i stay
shall i go

coz you know,
the longer you stay
the deeper you fall

that place is really exist

Under The Moon

Dear Moon,
What do you feel up there?
I bet it’s not as good as mine here
Sitting under your light
Trying to find out a way to stay

It’s must've been lucky of being you
Even after being left by the sun
there will always the stars around you
no matter how dark the cloud around you
they’re only being hid and still around

I’m here,
Sitting under your light, trying to get out from the dark
The dark which haunted me even in the daylight
Among the dream I should have not

This dream I’m living,
Feels so empty, that I cannot even fill
Feels so High, that I cannot even reach
Feels so Mute, no matter how I shout
Feels so cruel, no matter how I deal

This dream I have, as if I don’t really meant to have
I just want to be the moon, bright and live on its full circle
Among the stars…

101 Things I Didn’t Learn in Architecture School

22.50 Unknown 0 Comments

hei, folks!
how's your architecture doing? nooo... don't be too fond of autoCAD or 3DsMAX or SketchUp. enjoy everything! anyway, i Found this interesting article quite long ago, from my twitter pal and some others. tapi baru sekarang punya kesempatan (dan ingat) buat posting ini. haha. it came from here anyway

1] Even if your boss is your friend he may have to axe you to save his business.

2] Read the book, On Bullshit, by Harry G. Frankfurt. Carry it with you. It’s pocket-sized.

3] Do not drink at work and especially do not get toasted around your colleagues under any circumstances.

4] No matter how highly you may think of yourself you may still be a minion in the eyes of others who hold more power than you.

5] Once you leave architecture school not everybody cares about architecture or wants to talk about it.

6] All eating habits and diets acquired during school should be jettisoned.

7] The hygiene habits you kept in architecture school are inappropriate for real life; bathe regularly and change your underwear.

8] The rush and exhilaration you experience in studio may be inversely proportional to how much you will enjoy working for a firm.

9] It’s architecture, not medicine. You can take a break and no one will die.

10] Significant others are more important than architecture; they are the ones who will pull you through in the end. See 49.

Keep reading after the break.

11] Being smart and having advanced degrees can make you a better designer.

12] The industry underpays. Push for what you are worth.

13] Mind your internet traffic at work unless you are certain your office does not have someone monitoring. Of course you should be working every minute, so this goes without saying.

14] Go home to your family.

15] Call your loved one’s frequently.

16] If you are working overtime, the firm buys dinner.*
*Contingent on office policies, of course.

17] Don’t keep a mayline screwed to your desk. They are not cool and they date you. The same goes for colored pencils.

18] Get the biggest monitor you can.

19] Do not, however, ask for two monitors. Even though it makes you look like a bad-ass you will be expected to do twice the amount of work.

20] Make sure team roles are clearly defined.

21] Know what your role is.

22] Be careful with emails. If in doubt, don’t send.

23] At times respect and civility seem to be scarce commodities in architecture.

24] Be cautious of “opportunities” that do not pay.

25] Sometimes the most critical person on your jury might actually be right.

26] Understand how your office is run as a business and how they go after projects.

27] It is best to keep your outside activities quiet.

28] Your boss reads your blog.

29] Pyromania, car soccer, and other antics you made up to amuse yourself at 3 am are not actually normal. See 49.

30] There are no architectural emergencies that should make you completely give up your life on the outside. That may have been the ethos in studio, but don’t carry it into the office.

31] Be suspicious if your firm expects you to work long hours of overtime for no compensation. Be doubly suspicious if they justify it by saying things like, “It’s just part of the learning curve” or “We had to go through this, too.”

32] If a police officer pulls you over on the freeway for doing 90 mph on a Sunday morning while heading into the office, it’s time to re-evaluate your priorities.

33] Know who the decision-makers are.

34] Don’t dress like an intern. See 72.

35] Read Dana Cuff’s Architecture: The Story of Practice.

36] Expect to be regarded with suspicion if your undergraduate degree is not in architecture.

37] Don’t be seduced by mere appearances.

38] If your firm is outsourcing work to save money, be concerned.

39] Architecture firms can have multiple glass ceilings. Be aware of them all.

40] If a principal of a firm sees making coffee or moving boxes as beneath him/her, consider looking for another office.

41] If a principal doesn’t say good morning when you say good morning to him/her, consider looking for another office.

42] When firms advertise themselves as think tanks or research labs, ask them specifically what it is that they do. And most importantly, make sure they pay. Well.

43] If you are invited to be on a jury, don’t trash the student just to make yourself look good or to contradict a rival on the jury. Be constructive and try to help the student. This is the point.

44] Subvert the signature of the software, unless you consciously want the architecture to convey this signature.

45] Architects are in a service industry. They provide services to clients.

46] In proportion to their pay, architects require the most education, most training, and the most exams to become licensed professionals.

47] Don’t be a Typhoid Mary. When sick, stay home.

48] Embrace the business-side of architecture.

49] If you are an architect you should automatically qualify for psychotherapy and medication.

50] Most architects believe they were destined to become architects because of their early childhood experiences. They showed signs of architectural greatness at a very young age. This is a myth that reinforces an unhealthy hero complex. See 49.

51] Architecture in the academy is completely removed from the profession. Likewise, the values within the academy are radically different from the values within a firm.

52] Be cautious about applying theory to space.

53] Do not take design strategies or operations learned in studio too seriously.

54] Know the difference between architectural celebrity and actual worth.

55] Read books with words, not just pictures.

56] All firms are different. Shop.

57] To save time, assume your wife is right.

58] Do not date an architect unless you are certain he/she is able to maintain a healthy life outside of architecture. See 49.

59] Architects should not intermarry. Inbreeding is not good for the gene pool. See 49.

60] If you are married when you go to architecture school, studio ends at 7:00.

61] Do not buy into the fashion of the moment and simply dismiss certain architects without examining them for yourself.

62] Architects who do not build things also have important things to say and should be listened to.

63] If your studio instructor is a recent graduate, be alarmed.

64] Do not obsess about sustainability to the exclusion of other factors.

65] Renderings done in China are so last year.

66] If you start a think tank make sure you have some thoughts to put in it.

67] Read Rem Koolhaas, but do not obsess and fantasize about being him. Delirious New York is still relevant.

68] Archi-babble does not make you sound cool.

69] Keep in touch with everyone you know, especially if they aren’t in architecture.

70] In fact, make friends who are not architects.

71] Do not wear the same shoes every day, They will start to smell.

72] Make sure your jeans are up-to-date. No acid-wash. No baggy.

73] The economically distressed urban zones you can afford while in school are not gentrified just because you and your friends have moved in.

74] If you must read Italo Calvino, read more than just Invisible Cities.

75] Expect a period of post-traumatic stress disorder after you graduate. Do not make any important decisions during this time.

76] Don’t get a dog just because you are lonely.

77] Architecture is fueled by fetishes—rectilinear designer eyewear, for instance.

78] When trying to decide if a theory book is good, check the bibliography first.

79] Listen to your elders. They are wise.

80] FAIA can mean different things to different people.

81] If you already have a B.Arch, consider further education in a different field. Your M.Arch. can’t make a real contribution to the field if you’re just showing off software skills.

82] Always back up your hard drive.

83] Embrace social media, but don’t be its bitch. Only tweet/post when you have something important to say.

84] Architecture firms should consider forming economic alliances similar to OPEC.

85] Even if you don’t like the look of someone’s architecture they may have something valuable to teach you.

86] Great architecture, like great art, tends to arise from deep psychological issues. See 49.

87] The eighties and postmodernism were not all bad.

88] Being avant-garde is a choice that should be evaluated.

89] Architect’s web pages are often out of control and take too long to load.

90] In one’s life there are a finite number of all-nighters one can pull. You probably used them all up in school.

91] Understand the contexts from which modernism arose.

92] When the economy is good architects can rely on experience to run firms, but when the economy is bad they need advanced business skills they may not possess.

93] Architecture is dependent on boom and bust cycles.

94] Good design is not necessarily the most important factor in running a successful architecture firm.

95] Branding is important.

96] In a corporate firm, those at the top are not necessarily the best but they may have been there the longest.

97] Being good at software does not make you a good architect.

98] Architecture is cliquish.

99] Many architects do not live in houses designed by themselves or other architects.

100] Architecture office parking lots communicate success. There should be at least a couple high-end luxury cars. If there are a lot of beaters, be wary. If all cars are beaters, don’t go in.

101] Be concerned when you are too idle at work

enjoy your architect!

Isi Kepala Arsitek (part 2)

on my 3rd office right now, and found a few interesting things here, more sophisticated and greener. here's why

*keep the trees
*put on planter on negative areas
*put on planters on roof top, so everyone can see beautiful landscapes, not just brownish messy triangular things
*minimize the air-conditioning system, or let's say, use the greenest one. (a little bit contradictive though. see below)
*follow the contours
*maximize the window and doors

and here's why not
*white paint everywhere just makes daylight brighter than it should be
*even the greenest AC system, doesn't mean it use less energy
*why just put planters? not trees in larger area?
*extra maintenance for minimalist style

well, can't wait to have my own architecture langguage...

Pajak Oleh Oleh

21.45 Unknown 1 Comments

hei, folks!

how's your trip? buat yang doyan jalan-jalan pasti seneng banget nih ditanyain kalimat satu itu. ajang buat berbagi cerita, pengalaman, poto ada bahkan mungkin sedikit pamer di facebook? bring it on!

dan satu hal lagi yang gak lepas dari jalan-jalan adalah oleh-oleh. begitu ada yang tau kalo kita mau jalan-jalan kemanapun tujuannya, bahkan mungkin hanya sejauh jakarta-bogor, orang-orang pasti langsung komentar, "oleh-oleh ya jangan lupaaaa!!!" yah, baeklah... oleh-oleh. tapi kan sayah gak bilang kalo satu orang harus dapet satu kan? mungkin bisa satu barang buat 10 orang? ampun, deh pelitnyaa.... hahaha xDD. you can't asked for more, right? it's free anyway. dan teman yang 'agak sedikit lebih baik' adalah teman yang bukan minta oleh-oleh, tapi titipan. "titip beliin bakpia dong", "titip beliin dodol dong", "titip beliin termos(?) dong". what? it might be happened, right? hehehe titipan gak akan masalah kalo emang perjalanan kita cuma di sekitar ribuan pulau di Indonesia.

Berikut contoh perhitungan bea masuk tadi:

Misalnya, barang belanjaan yg kamu bawa:
-HP: US$. 200
-Wine: US$. 300
Total belanjaan = US$. 500

Selisih: US$.(500-250) = US$. 250
Pajak: (dalam US$)
- 15% dr hrga brg tertinggi (wine): 300*15% = 45
-10% PPn dari selisih: 250*10% = 25
-10% PPh dari selisih: 250*10% = 25
TOTAL yang harus dibayar: US$ 95
(Hampir mencapai 20% dari harga belanjaan kamu)

well well well, it's worth almost 20%. it's whole lot money, i guess... pastikan sajah kalo temen kamu yang nitip tadi udah nambahin 20% dari harga barang buat lolos bea cukai.

happy travelling,

In many cases the light source itself does not have to appear in the image. The term light painting also encompasses images lit from outside the frame with hand-held light sources."

Balada Rambut

happy january!
wish u have a wonderful january, mates! ^___^ mine has done pretty well, though a slight stress still occuring. anyway, just wanna share about hair.
yeap, hair. udah beberapa minggu ini, entah kenapa rambutku rontok terus plus patah-patah, tapi gak tahu mau diapain. udah coba produk macem-macem tapi gak ada yang beres, akhirnya potong rambut deh. solusi klise. but anyway, this isn't about my hair. it's my sister's.

entah karena salah gen atau emang dapet gen resesif, rambutku sendiri aja yang lurus, sementara papa, mama dan kedua adikku rambutnya bergelombang, dan gelombangnya cakep! not to mention, long curl hair, while mine only short and seriously straight hair. pengen banget rasanya punya rambut bergelombang. apalagi sejak nonton gossip girl, suka banget sama rambut salah satu pemeran utamanya, Blake Lively, pemeran Serena Van Der Woodsen. long, curly, and blonde.

enjoy
